A little recap of our busy fall season at Twin Town Villa

December 10, 2018 By Community Life Coordinator

We had a very busy fall. Here is a recap of only some of the fun we had here at Twin Town Villa! We started out the fall season with a staff pie baking contest with resident  judges, went on multiple outings,  a successful harvest gathering, sweet and spooky trick or treaters, many volunteer student groups and more!

The staff pie baking contest was a huge hit for both residents and staff!

We loaded up the Twin Town bus one Saturday morning an headed off to Maplewood State Park in Pelican Rapids, MN to see the beautiful fall leaves!

This year for our fall harvest gathering we painted pumpkins and had tasty fall treats.

We had a few different high school classes from our community volunteer to clean our building inside and out. They also played a few games with the residents.

For Halloween residents frosted Halloween cookies and played word games. We had many residents dress up for trick or treating!

Throughout the fall season we did many different crafts, drawing and painting.

We made many memories and shared many laughs this fall season. Thank you to everyone who made this fall season so special!

Halloween Day at Twin Town Villa!

November 5, 2018 By Community Life Coordinator

We all had a great time Halloween Day! Both staff and residents participated in dressing up. It was great to see the fun costumes and the time that was put into them!

In the afternoon residents did a variety of Halloween word games, along with their go-to favorite board game Rumikub!

Late afternoon came and you could see and feel the excitement from the residents waiting.

Here come the pretty princesses, unicorns, scary wolves, monsters and more!

Each month we do something to give back to our community. This month we decided to make a donation to the Richland/Wilkin Food Pantry! With everyone’s help we were able to donate 64.5 pounds of items!

We want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who brought their kids or grand kids to see us! Also to everyone who donated candy, to all the staff that helped make the night go smooth and keep the candy buckets full!

Twin Town Villa Skills Fair!

October 8, 2018 By Community Life Coordinator

Each year our care providers get together to participate in an annual skills fair. At this skills fair the care providers get the opportunity to refresh their minds on skills they do not get to regularly perform, and ask questions on the skills they perform on a regular basis. This is a great time for the care providers to get together and to ensure we are all using the proper techniques.

Some of the skills we brush up on include hygiene assist, dressing assist, TED hose/ACE wraps, medication administration, hoyer lift training, vital signs, polices/procedures, catheter care, communication skills, transfer training, and wound care.

In the world of healthcare things are always changing which makes this skills fair a perfect time to discuss any new polices and procedures to provide the best quality care for our residents.
