At Twin Town Villa, our residents love to play games that keep their bodies and minds active. We have many fun activities and games for seniors of various abilities, beyond just the standard favorites of playing cards and Bingo (although we do make Bingo extra fun by playing for money or playing penny bingo with a deck of cards!). Having a wide array of games and activities is also an important part of memory care. Here are a few of our favorite activities and what we have been up to lately (follow our Facebook page to see more!).
Activities & Games that TwinTown Villa Residents Love
Mini Foosball and Air Hockey
For our residents that have a competitive side, our miniature air hockey and foosball games let them take on a friend – one versus one!
Big Games like Flarts & Bowling
Games like bowling and flarts are great for working on our gross motor skills. We play bowling with
a beach ball and giant inflatable pins – It’s anyone’s game! Flarts is a funny name… it has a bullseye similar to darts but it uses bean bags or inflatable floor darts.
Working with our Hands
Many of our residents love working with wood or other textures to build things.
One recent activity included sanding wooden disks. For many, this brought back many memories of woodworking or just being in their shop. Another recent activity was putting together a styrofoam airplane. It is fun to start a project from pieces and see it come together into something whole.
Books at the Twin Town Library
Reading material at the library at Twin Town Villa goes beyond just newspapers and fiction. Twin Town Villa has a great library of how-to and nonfiction books too including quilting books, cooking books, and more!
Brain Teasers & Puzzles
Our residents enjoy working on brain teasers and math problems to keep their minds sharp. Brainteaser activities include fill-in-the-blank word problems, I Spy games, puzzles, bead sequencing, a fidget board, and more.
